Suede & Nubuck
Suede is a type of leather with either a rough or smooth finish, commonly used for upholstery, jackets, bags and shoes. Suede in shoes tends to be slightly rough to give a more robust and stronger length of life to the shoes.
Nubuck leather is made from top-grain cattle leather that has been sanded or buffed, to give a slight velvet-like surface. Nubuck requires a little more care but is a durable long life product.
