Where did Chaos & Harmony’s name come from?

We wanted a name that would inspire us creatively but also describe our aesthetic. We wanted to grow and be pulled by the name and still love it 10 years down the track. Chaos & Harmony reflects our love of textures to create depth – it brings about a curious contradiction. It also subtly sums up a woman’s world!

 

Where are your shoes made?

Every pair of Chaos & Harmony shoes begins life as a hand-drawn sketch in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. We then choose high grade, often textured, leathers at markets before our shoes go into production in the Guangdong province in China. We’ve spent years building a great relationship with the small, artisan factory which creates our shoes. The skilled craftsmanship of our team there allows us to create small runs of exclusive, hand-made product, while still paying attention to detail, material and essential ingredients that make a Chaos & Harmony shoe special. We visit every 12 weeks and are in daily contact with our artisans in China. Our factory abides by ethical manufacturing standards.

 

The shoe I want is sold out - will you get more?

I bought a shoe, but now it's on sale, can I get the discount applied?

We are a small company, and we see discounts as our way to reward you, our fans. We do so sparingly, via our mailing list or during peak times of the year. It is our pleasure! That said, we do not retro-discount purchases. Our stock is VERY limited, by purchasing you are securing your size, the colour you want and getting the pair you need. While we love a discount, we are also very cautious about cheapening our brand and your experience on the site. Thank you for understanding.

 

Are your shoes vegan?

We do not currently make any vegan styles.

 

What materials do you use to create your shoes?

We work with the markets in Guangdong to find unique prints, textures, leathers and suedes. All of our shoes are genuine leather, with a latex memory foam on the footbed for best comfort, as well as a super-soft leather lining. In the instance that we use textiles, fabric, plastics, nylons, neoprene or synthetics of any kind it is noted on the individual model.

 

Can I order over the phone?

Sure. What works best is to email us your telephone contact number and all the order details. We can then call you and get your order sorted and on its way to you. Email us at shop@chaosandharmonyshoes.com

 

Will Chaos & Harmony charge sales tax on my purchase?

You are charged New Zealand Goods & Services Tax.

 

How do I know when my order is going to arrive?

Once your order is shipped, and physically en route, you will receive a tracking number from us. Then you can stalk, click, refresh, until your new shoes are in your hands, then on your feet.

 

I placed an order on your site, how long will it take? Where does it ship from?

We ship all orders from Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. All orders ship within 24 hours of being placed into our system. Please note, we ship Monday through Friday, and are closed for shipping Saturday and Sunday. Additional fees will apply to overnight, overseas or express shipping, and orders can be easily picked up from our Blakchaos store in Mount Maunganui. If you would like to collect your order in person, please say so in the special instructions at checkout.

How is the fit on your shoes?

While we try to make all of our shoes to general New Zealand and Australian sizes, some styles, models, shapes and models fit differently due to sizing, scale, shape or pitch. We do our best to accurately describe the fit of Chaos & Harmony shoes and recommend measuring your foot and comparing it to the fit notes of each style.

If your shoes don’t fit perfectly, you could try a SHUSHU insert, or exchange for another size or a refund.

How do I look after my shoes?

Leather is a natural quality product. Variances in colour, shade and natural markings can occur. Upon wearing, crinkles can appear. This is a natural part of leather wear. Other upper fabrics need special care, such as cottons and woven fabric that wear more easily.

Clean your shoes with a soft cotton cloth before polishing or applying any shoe protector. This will ensure you remove dirt from the material, instead of rubbing it in.

Apply polish evenly and once dry, buff until shiny. Where possible, use a natural product as it absorbs better. We recommend a natural bee’s wax.  Metal trims should be wiped clean with a dry cloth. Metal can discolour when exposed to a water.

Preserve or waterproof - especially suede. Beware of denim rubbing on light-coloured shoes.

Heels will last longer if you avoid hooking them over things like barstools, avoid uneven or rough surfaces and avoid driving in them. Heel tips will need to be replaced with wear.

What if I need a repair?

Chaos & Harmony create quality hand-made shoes with a focus on design. From time to time, some faults may occur. Please email returns@chaosandharmonyshoes.com to let us know your repair request and we will reply to you with a returns address and have your shoes repaired as soon as possible.

 

Can I use your images in my blog/Insta/Facebook?

My shoes either don't fit, I don't love them, or I want to return them. What should I do?

That’s ok, we want you to love your new shoes as much as we do. We offer 100% money back returns within 14 days from the date your order is shipped. What does this mean? If you have not worn the shoes outdoors, and the shoes show no sign of distress or wear, are in their original packaging and fully packaged, you will get a 100% refund once the shoes are checked back into our system. We refund the full amount to your credit card,

Refunds will be processed within 5 working days of receiving the returned the item(s) and we will email confirmation once the refund has been processed.

. Please be aware that your banking institution may require additional days to process and post this transaction to your account. You will be responsible for return shipping and associated costs.

Can I return my shoes if I purchased them on sale?

You sure can. Please return them within 14 days in the original purchase condition - including the shoe box. We will exchange or refund depending on what you would like to do. Email us at returns@chaosandharmonyshoes.com for a returns address.

 

Do you have a physical store?

Is it safe to use my credit card with Chaos & Harmony?
