How did you meet your partner? Tell us about your love story…
Like so many classic modern day romances, we met online in September 2019, shortly before I (Anna) went travelling for a month around Mexico and Cuba. It wasn’t long after my return that Melbourne went into the first of many COVID lockdowns and so we navigated much of our dating in the confines of our living rooms and kitchens. We discovered we had so many shared experiences – our paths would have literally crossed multiple times over – but it seems the timing was never right until now.
Tell us about your wedding day, your vision and the style…
We wanted something urban, relaxed and intimate where we could have the reception and ceremony at the one location. This was so much easier for our family and friends (particularly those who travelled interstate) and meant there was no break in the celebrations – the afternoon flowed seamlessly into the evening. We had a first look photo session with our bridal party before the reception and then some quick sunset photos as husband and wife to maximise time with our guests. It was a smaller sit-down wedding of 60 people which allowed us to connect with everyone on the night. The venue served family style dining, so it felt like one big, warm extended family dinner. One of the biggest crowd pleasers of the evening was the designated gin & whiskey bar – a definite recommendation!
What Chaos & Harmony Shoes did you purchase for your wedding and how did the shoes make you feel?
I wore the Promise heel in Champagne Velvet. The colour and fabric matched the colour scheme perfectly and were something a little romantic and original. The shoes felt so soft and glamourous to wear. They were easy to walk in and comfortable for the whole night.
Did the suit or shoes come first and how did you style them with the dress?
I decided on the dress first but couldn’t try it on until a month before the wedding, so technically the shoes arrived first! I had been coming across similar heels in my Pinterest search for shoes, but the champagne and the velvet combo had me love struck.
Did you buy the shoes with the intention to wear them again? If so, have you?
Yes. I wasn’t planning on keeping everything associated with the wedding but I knew I wanted to keep the shoes so that I could wear them again on special occasions such as our anniversary. I’ve already worn them again to our friends’ wedding.
I loved my shoes so much when they arrived (and how comfy they were) that I also purchased the Chici heels in Snow Feather to wear at my Hens Party. They were the perfect ‘bridal’ addition to my outfit and I received so many compliments. I’m now just looking for an excuse to wear them again too!
